Why Snail Mucin is sooo good for your skin?
Hyluronic acid, propolis and honey, cica, AHAs & BHAs, aloe vera, green tea, tea tree oil, licorice root extract, and #SNAILMUCIN are just some of the special ingredients that make up #Koreanskincare products. Snail mucin is beneficial in treating acne, fading hyperpigmentation, and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
But what actually is snail mucin?
Snail mucin isn't actually comprised of the actual snail-it's the slime that the snail produces. This weirded me out until I researched to be sure that the mucin was harvested cruelty free. So, NO SNAILS WERE HARMED OR KILLED in the harvesting. The snails are actually lab-grown where they live in an optimal and very comfy environment to allow them to have adequate rest to optimize their secretion filtrate production.
What are the benefits of snail mucin to skin?
Turns out there are A LOT of benefits that snail mucin has for your skin. This is because snail mucin contains many beneficial ingredients such as antioxidants which calm inflammation in the skin and promote healthy collagen production, glycolic acid, glycoprotein enzymes, and copper peptides. What a great line up of goodies!
These ingredients are awesome at repairing skin damage, evening out skin tone, fading hyperpigmentation (including spots after acne), and helps to boost collagen and elastin production. Snail mucin is also great for hydrating the skin as it contains hyaluronic acid.
SNAIL MUCIN IS OHH, SO GOOD AT TREATING ACNE!
Snail mucin also has antimicrobial properties making it great for fighting off acne-causing bacteria and, combined with the glycolic acid, helps to prevent by exfoliating (removing dead cells, unclogging pores). Snail mucin can also help to repair the skin's moisture barrier. It helps to heal post #acne breakout, reduces #inflammation, and helps to reduce redness.
I'm always trying out new products and as a true skeptic, I always like to test everything on myself first. I'm loving #OsmocellSnailCream by #Storyderm. I include this in my nightly routine. I love the way it makes my skin feel. I notice that after a breakout, the redness fades faster when using Osmocell Snail Cream. I've tried a few others but I really like the one from StoryDerm the most.
